Drum Point's Leaning Pole To Be Fixed Starting Monday: Brick Police

Breaking: Police said it will take much of the week to replace the utility pole.

BRICK, NJ — If you've ever driven on Drum Point Road, you've surely seen it: A utility pole leaning over the road, that looks like it's sure to fall at any moment.

On Monday, that utility pole will finally be addressed. No more driving past praying it's not going to fall. No more wondering whether it will survive a storm.

The Brick Township Police Department said Jersey Power and Light will begin work to replace the pole on Monday, and the replacement will take the entire week to complete.

The work will force police to close a small section of Drum Point Road westbound in the area, police said.

"A detour will be set up to allow westbound traffic to utilize the ramp behind Drum Point Plaza," police said.

The work also will result in intermittent closures of Drum Point Road eastbound, police said.

Motorists are urged to take alternate routes because the closures will likely result in significant travel delays, police said.
