Duo Arrested In Radio Shack Shoplifting Incident, Brick Police Say

More than $650 worth of electronics were taken in the incident, police said.

BRICK, NJ -- Two Brick Township residents have been arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at Radio Shack thanks to tips from the public, police said Wednesday.

Adrienne M. Mazzuca, 33, of Sawmill Road, and Edwin Hernandez, 35 of Windsor Road, have been charged with shoplifting in the Dec. 23 incident, in which more than $650 worth of electronics were stolen, Detective Sgt. Henry Drew said.

Police released photos from video surveillance at the store through social media and various media outlets on Monday.

Mazzuca and Hernandez were arrested in Seaside Heights, Drew said. Mazzuca was charged by Detective Daniel Waleski with shoplifting, Drew said.

Mazzuca, who had outstanding warrants against her, also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Hernandez, meanwhile, was charged with hindering apprehension by Detective Luigi Violante of the Seaside Heights Police Department.

Both were being held in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, according to jail records. Hernandez’s bail was set at $1,500 with no 10 percent option. Mazzuca has bail amounts totaling $1,250 on various charges, according to jail records.

“The Brick Township Police Department would like to thank the numerous people who called in to help identify the subjects that were involved,” Drew said.
