Early Morning Fire Damages Brick Home: Fire Official

The fire in the Seawood Harbor section was contained and damage limited, fire officials said.

BRICK, NJ — A home in the Seawood Harbor section of Brick was damaged in a two-alarm fire early Sunday morning, officials said Sunday evening.

The fire at the home on Toronto Drive was reported at 3:24 a.m., officials with Pioneer Hose Company said. There was no one home at the time and there were no injuries, officials said.

First responders found a fire on the back deck that had spread to the rear of the house, and Engine 2231 from Pioneer Hose Fire Company and Ladder 2115 from Breton Woods Fire Company quickly got water and knocked it down, protecting the interior of the house, officials said.

Firefighters from Pioneer Hose and Laurelton entered the house and stopped a small extension of the fire to the second floor, officials said. Herbertsville Fire Company also responded, and Silverton Volunteer Fire Company and the Point Pleasant Fire Department provided mutual aid, Pioneer fire company officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brick Township Fire Bureau.
