ELECTION 2015: Primary Voting Is Tuesday

Brick Township has no contested primaries, but the Ocean County freeholder race has a contested Republican primary.

Tuesday is Primary Election Day throughout New Jersey. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for voting.

There are four candidates running in the Republican primary for the Brick Township Council’s four seats that are up for grabs this year:

  • Frank Pannucci Jr.
  • Dan Toth
  • Michael R. Conti
  • Charles D. Bacon

In the Democratic primary race for the council, there are four candidates. They are unopposed for the Democratic nomination. They are:

  • Andrea Zapcic
  • Susan Lydecker
  • James T. Fozman
  • Arthur Halloran

The Ocean County Freeholder primaries include a contested GOP race. The Republican candidates for the two Ocean County freeholder seats up for grabs in November are:

  • John C. Bartlett Jr.
  • Gerry P. Little
  • Victoria McErlean
  • Josh Prizer

Bartlett and Little are the incumbents.

The Democratic primary has two candidates:

  • Patricia Barndt
  • Christopher Leitner

Instructions on the county’s sample ballot note: “You are confined legally to a choice of candidates for nomination within your own Political Party. The machine is so adjusted as to comply with the law, and will not permit you to vote in the Primary of more than ONE Political Party.”
