Family, Pets Escape Brick House Fire: Police
Breaking: The house was filled with smoke when police arrived Tuesday morning.

BRICK, NJ — An electrical fire damaged a Brick Township home early Tuesday morning but there were no injuries, police said.
Brick Township police responded to a call shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday reporting the fire on East View Drive in the Eagle Point section, Sgt. Timothy Boyle said.
When Officers Vincent Rosa and Robert Koch, Detective Daniel Waleski and Sgt. Arthur Rivaldo arrived, the home was filled with smoke, Boyle said. The people who lived in the home and their pets were safely evacuated, he said.

Breton Woods Fire Company and Pioneer Hose Fire Company extinguished the fire, he said, which investigators ruled was accidental. It started in an electrical outlet in a closed porch at the back of the home, Boyle said.
Detective Kenneth Steinberg and Brick Township Fire Marshal Frank Beshears conducted the investigation, he said.
