Fatal Crash Victim ID'd in Jackson
Police said a medical episode led to the crash where a car left West Veterans Highway and hit a tree.

JACKSON, NJ — Jackson Township police said a medical episode led to a crash on West Veterans Highway that killed a man on Tuesday.
Augustine Tambini, 58, of Jackson, suffered a medical episode that left him incapacitated just before his car left the road and hit a tree, Jackson Sgt. George Vidalis said.
Tambini was found in the driver's seat unresponsive after the vehicle hit a tree on the south side of West Veterans Highway near the entrance to the Jackson Justice Complex.

The crash happened about 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The initial investigation determined he was westbound on West Veterans Highway when the vehicle crossed over the centerline and eastbound lane and ran off the road into the woods and hit a tree.
Officers, along with emergency personnel from the Whitesville Fire Department, Cassville Fire Department, Quality Medical Unit, and MONOC paramedics extricated Tambini from the vehicle and took him to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus where he was pronounced dead by the emergency room doctor, police said.
