A Father & His Daughter Are Inspired Hearing About Parker's Army

"Pajama Day" At Sophia's Preschool Inspire A Father And His Daughter To Reach Out To "Parker's Army". The Life Of Parker Matthew Nork.

We all hear the cliche, "Your health is everything". But until you are touched in some way, hear about it or know someone affected by an unimaginable tragedy, you can not possibly understand. Todd Novak, a local parent and Father to Sophia, 3 yrs old, started sending his daughter to her first pre-school. After a short while the class announced they would be having "Pajama" day. The school further explained the purpose of Pajama day was to commemorate the life of a little boy who formerly attended the very same school. His name was Parker. Parker Matthew Nork, was just 9 yrs old when he lost his life to Leukemia. From the day he was diagnosed, 22 days later he was gone. A foundation was soon established in Parker's name, Parker's Army.

When Mr. Novak read about Parker and the incredible journey this family endured, he decided to reach out. Mr. Novak wanted to let Parker's Mom, Kim know how deeply their loss touched him and his family. Mr. Novak sat his own children down and explained what happened to Parker. Mr Novak wanted his children to understand the blessing of life, health and what happens when people lose that battle.

Mr. Novak explained, "Life is precious, more precious than most of us know. Especially when you hear about Parker, and his family. No matter the holiday, no matter the issue, a precious life like Parker's gives us all reason to pause. Reading Kim's website, and understanding how beautiful Parker was puts things into perspective. Her beautiful child....no longer here, leaves us all wanting to feel her pain. Maybe in some way to help...to unburden Parker's Mom. But we can't, we can only share her story, tell the world about Parker, and keep his legacy alive. After all Sophia and her Dad will always have "Pajama Day" in their lives. Thank you Parker, thank you for your impactful life, thank you for teaching my family about working hard playing sports, how much you loved your Mommy and family. But most of all thank you during this holiday season and all the others to come for reminding us about life, health and Parker's Army."
