Flood Warning In Brick As 2nd Storm Moves In
On the 9th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, police are urging residents to be safe as roads are flooding and strong winds are expected.

BRICK, NJ — Roads are flooded again in several areas on Friday and Brick Township police are urging people to be cautious as water levels are expected to continue to rise for the next few hours.
"There have been many reports of flooding in the area," Brick Township police said in a post on Facebook. A photo of one of the department's high-water vehicles showed it riding through several inches of water in midafternoon.
On Thursday evening, Route 35 north and south was flooded on the barrier island, and flooding was happening again on Friday, as the area marks the ninth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, which inundated the barrier island and backbay areas.

Tides are expected to rise 1-2 feet above ground level in low-lying areas; high tide is expected at 7:08 p.m., Brick police said.

"Tides are expected to peak from 5-9 p.m. this evening," police said.
There is a wind advisory in effect through 2 p.m. Saturday, with winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts to 45 mph.
Residents living in areas prone to flooding are encouraged to move their vehicles to higher ground; police said vehicles can be parked at the township's parks.
"Use extreme caution when you see flood warning signs or cones blocking off roadways," police said.
