Football: Brick Memorial Falls To Jackson Memorial On Late TD

The Mustangs suffer their first loss since opening day

Brick Memorial started off this football season with a tough assignment: crosstown rival Brick, which won that opening matchup handily.

But the Mustangs had been on a roll ever since. Until Friday night, that is.

Brick Memorial (4-2, 3-2) got a rushing and a passing touchdown from quarterback Tim Santiago, but an untimely fumble allowed Jackson Memorial to score the winning touchdown in Shore Conference Class A South game, according to the Shore Sports Network.

Santiago ran for a 6-yard score and hit Karl Kumm for a 30-yard touchdown as the Mustangs took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but Jackson answered with two touchdowns in the second quarter.

Brick Memorial travels to Middletown South next Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
