Football: Brick Memorial Tops Southern, Awaits State Playoff Opponent
Five different players score for Mustangs

Five players scored touchdowns as Brick Memorial finished off its regular-season schedule with a 35-7 victory over Southern Regional in a Shore Conference Class A South football game Friday night, according to the Shore Sports Network.
Connor Owen ran for the first score for the Mustangs (6-3, 5-2) and Karl Kumm caught a touchdown pass and had an interception in the victory.
Now the Mustangs, who beat Toms River South last weekend 15-6, await the finalizing of NJSIAA power points to find out their seed and opponent in the South Jersey Group V playoffs. Brick Memorial was in the fifth spot coming into the weekend, behind Lenape (7-0), Rancocas Valley (6-1), Williamstown (6-2), and Cherokee (4-3) 108. Toms River North (5-3), Atlantic City (4-3) and Egg Harbor (4-3) all followed the Mustangs in the rankings, as did Southern, whose playoff hopes were dashed in the Mustangs’ victory.
