Forge Pond Car Burglary Victims Urged To Call Brick Police

Breaking: Police are urging residents to contact them after arrest turns up stolen items that weren't reported missing.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police are asking residents in the Forge Pond area of Brick to contact them if they have been the victims of car burglaries in late April but had not reported them to police.

The request comes after police arrested a Browns Mills man in connection with one car burglary and discovered a number of items that did not match reports of missing property, Brick police said.

Mark James Dixon, 28, of Browns Mills, was arrested May 1 in connection with a car burglary that happened between April 24 and May 1, police said. They allege Dixon entered unlocked vehicles and removed various items.

At the time of his arrest, Dixon was charged with one count of burglary, but several items were recovered that have not yet been reported missing, police said. "It is believed that these items are proceeds of additional car burglaries that occurred in the areas of Van Buren Avenue, Regina Drive, and Pinewood Drive," police said.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected. Dixon is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, according to the jail database.
