Former Devils Star Jim Dowd Making Hometown Appearance In Brick
The Brick High School graduate will be signing autographs at the Devils Day event at Investors Bank.

BRICK, NJ — Former New Jersey Devils star Jim Dowd will be in his hometown of Brick Township on Saturday to celebrate the town's youth hockey traditions at Investors Bank.
Devils Day will be held at the Investors Bank branch at 639 Brick Blvd. (near Buffalo Wild Wings and Outback Steakhouse).
The event is free and will include the Devils Mobile Tour Experience, where fans can test their goal-shooting skills with a slapshot simulator. There will be a drawing for adults to win Devils prizes from Investors Bank.

Dowd grew up in Brick and played hockey for in the Brick Hockey Club. A 1987 graduate of Brick Township High School, he helped the Dragons win the NJSIAA state championship in 1986 and scored 189 goals and had 186 assists in his high school career. He was drafted by the Devils out of high school, the first player drafted from New Jersey to join, skate and score for the Devils. The NJSIAA's Dowd Cup is named in his honor.
He spent four year at Lake Superior State in Michigan before his pro career, and led the Lakers to the 1987-88 NCAA championship. He then spent 17 years in the NHL. His game-winning goal in Game 2 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals helped the Devils sweep the Detroit Red Wings.

Dowd will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans at the branch on Saturday.
"We are hosting the Brick event to recognize the community’s exceptional youth hockey programs that help boys and girls to achieve their potential on the rink and in their lives," said William Brown, Investors Bank’s chief retail banking officer. "Our branch team is honored that Jim Dowd and members of the New Jersey Devils organization are joining us to celebrate the township’s hockey legacy."
The event begins at 10 a.m. and the schedule is as follows:
10 a.m. – noon: Devils Mobile Tour Experience
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: NJ Devil mascot appearance
11 a.m. – noon: New Jersey Devils alumnus and Brick native Jim Dowd.
