The first threat was called in about 1:15 p.m. on June 3, to the main office of Jenkinson’s, Billhimer said. The caller said he would be planting a bomb on the boardwalk. Jenkinson's officials called Point Pleasant Beach police and the boardwalk was evacuated. The boardwalk reopened for business about three hours later, Billhimer said.

The next day, Jenkinson’s employees received another call alluding to a bomb threat. The boardwalk was once again cleared, and reopened after several hours, Billhimer said.
