Frigid Temperatures, Icy Roads: Brick Schools Close Again
A cold weather advisory has been issued for New Jersey, with warnings of wind chills below zero.
BRICK, NJ — Brick Township Schools students and staff members are getting another snow day on Tuesday as the township continues to dig out after Sunday's storm.
Bitterly cold temperatures and icy roads, along with snow accumulations and concerns about hazardous conditions at bus stops prompted school district officials to close the district for a second day.
"Out of an abundance of caution Brick Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026," the district said. "We will continue to monitor and assess. Further updates will be communicated and posted to our website: www.brickschools.org."

The Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools also are closed Tuesday and adult evening education classes are canceled, that district said.
The area is under a cold weather advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with wind chills as low as 7 degrees below zero expected, the National Weather Service said. Wind chills that low can cause hypothermia if precautions are not taken, officials said.
