A look at the awards and honors received by members of the graduating class at Donovan Catholic.

Donovan Catholic High School announced the following awards and information about the graduating Class of 2015. All information is from school officials.

There are 183 graduates in the Class of 2015. They have received college scholarships worth $24,713,298.

Valedictorian: Jenna Panek. Salutatorian: Madison Marko

This is the first class graduating as Donovan Catholic, and the 50th graduating class in the history of the school.

There is one appointment to West Point: Madison Marko.

One enlistment to the U.S. Army: Ny-eem Calhoun

Student-Athletes who signed NCAA letters of intent:

  • Rebecca Drake - Quinnipiac (softball)
  • Kelcy McGeehan - St. Thomas Aquinas (softball)

SENIOR AWARDS

Bishop Ahr Award: Sean Manning
Highest, most prestigious award selected by the faculty to the person who most exemplifies the true spirit and mission of Donovan Catholic.

Spirit of St. Dominic Award: Danielle Torre
Established in honor of the sisters who have served the school. The award recognizes an individual who embraces a strong Christian value system, pursuit of learning and dedication to service.

Fr. John Wessel memorial Award: Sean Manning
Recognizes individuals who live and practice their faith through service to the parish community.

Donovan Catholic Spirit Award: Alexander Morte, Nicole SanFilippo
Individuals demonstrating cheerfulness sincerity, courtesy, and school loyalty; all principles found in the school mission statement.

Griffin Award: Domenico DiSalvo, Rebecca Drake
Awarded to two outstanding athletes who demonstrate the qualities of sportsmanship, exemplary character, as well as athletic and academic achievement.

Virtue Athlete of the Year Award: Jade Cunningham, Andrew Picinic
Presented through the school’s virtue Program to individuals demonstrating outstanding virtue through Catholic practices on and off the athletic field.
