For hard-to-heal wounds, specialized treatment can be a godsend. When Katherine “Kathy” Royal developed a persistent leg wound, she and her husband, Toms, found the expert care they needed at the Wound Care Center at Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center. The couple was so pleased with Kathy’s full recovery that they made a donation to the center in honor of the team.

Sadly, Kathy later passed away, but her family’s deep gratitude remained. In her memory, they designated the Wound Care Center as a recipient for memorial donations, creating a lasting legacy of appreciation. Follow the story of the Royal family and discover why Toms described the caregivers as a “real team.” Learn how the center’s comprehensive approach, from compression therapy to advanced biological dressings, helps patients with chronic wounds make a full recovery. Their gift is a heartfelt tribute to a team that provides compassionate, life-changing care every day.
