Have A Fake ID? Don't Try It In Brick Bars, Restaurants
The police department and DART Coalition coordinated a training session to teach bar and liquor store employees how to pick out the fakes.

BRICK, NJ — Summertime. It's the time of year where young adults want to relax, have a few beers and listen to some music.
If you're one of those young adults who accomplishes that mission through the use of a fake ID, you might want to leave that fake at home, especially in Brick.
On Wednesday, the Brick Township Police Department, in concert with the DART Coalition, held training for its township liquor establishments about the guidelines of the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Instruction was also given by the Division of Motor Vehicles on detecting counterfeit IDs used to purchase alcohol.

This training was designed to help the bars and liquor store employees in the township to stay in compliance with the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverage Control.
"Chief James Riccio feels that this is an important step in combating underage drinking and also establishes open communication with our Brick Township liquor establishments," the police department said in a news release.

The Brick Township Police Department will be conducting periodic ABC inspections in the township's bars and liquor stores. The event was sponsored by the DART coalition with the assistance of Michele Buldo, who is the DART Prevention Coalition Coordinator with the Institute for Prevention at RWJ Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention.
