Have You Witnessed An Act of Kindness? Share It With The Patch
There has been more than enough anger and hate voiced in the last several months. Let's hear about the good in our communities.

It's often been said that there's not enough emphasis on the good and the kindness that exists in our communities, and often the finger is pointed at those of us in the media for reporting the negative things that go on in our world.
The good is there. I was reminded of that this weekend while I was in Virginia Beach to cheer on my daughter's soccer team. There was a convention for blind people going on at our hotel. I watched others pause to help some of those who needed assistance going to and from various places. It wasn't all grand gestures; in some cases it was as simple as telling them which direction they needed to go to find a door. And they were always grateful for the help.
So, with that in mind, I want to hear from you, Patch readers, about the acts of kindness that you witness in our communities. Tell me about the youngster raking leaves for neighbors. Tell me about the girl you know who volunteers at the shelter to make sure the dogs get walked. Tell me about the person who let you pull out into traffic, who held the door open for you as you entered a store.

Tell me about the good — and I'll share it with all of our neighbors, so we can remind people that there is a whole lot of kindness out there. We can all feel it, just as the woman in this photo felt the sun on her face and felt the wind on her skin as she walked on the beach. She couldn't see either, but it was there nonetheless.
