Help Brick flood victims

Greenbriar homes were inundated during recent torrential downpours

Part of a huge pile of flooring, furniture and personal belongings is loaded onto a township truck for disposal. A homeowner in a senior community is left with her household and her life in disarray.

That's the predicament faced by Rosemary Ackerman and others in the Greenbriar I community, where a normally little brook became a raging torrent that overflowed its banks and flooded nearby homes.

Rosemary had been through such a disaster before. SuperStorm Sandy flooded her house off Drum Point Road in 2012. She had that house raised and restored, then moved inland to Greenbriar. Mother Nature struck again this week.

This definitely isn't the quiet retirement she envisioned! Friends came to help drag water-logged and damaged items to the curb. Now she -- and many of her neighbors -- could use some monetary help.

A GoFundMe page has been set up at gf.me/u/kjhf2h. If you want to help, please contribute any amount, large or small, to get Rosemary back on her feet after this latest disaster. Thank you.
