Nellie Llera suffers from dementia and takes medication.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police say a woman who went missing Thursday afternoon has been found safe.

In a news release Friday afternoon, Sgt. Timothy Boyle said Nellie Llera, 71, who suffers from dementia, had been found safe, according to Llera's family.

She had gone missing after leaving her home on 20th Avenue in Brick at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, and had told a family member that she was going to go to New York City to the area of 125th Street because her mother used to live there. Police said Llera has wandered off in the past and has been located on previous occasions in Wall Township.
