Hide. Lock. Take. Brick Police Warning Of Increased Car Burglaries
Unlocked vehicles are making for easy targets for criminals, police said.
BRICK, NJ — Are you one of those folks who leaves your vehicle unlocked in your driveway?
The Brick Township Police Department is urging you to rethink that behavior.
"We have noticed a slight increase in thefts from vehicles recently," Sgt. Neal Pedersen, a spokesman for the department, said in a news release Thursday.

"We are advising residents to be sure to lock their vehicles and hide their valuables," he said. If you're out shopping, put your packages and valuables in your trunk or otherwise out of sight. If you're at home or at work, take your valuables into your house or if you must leave them in the vehicle, put them out of sight.
"Most of these thefts are crimes of opportunity due to vehicles being unlocked," he said.
