High-Speed Chase Leads To Seizure Of $2K, Marijuana: Report
Police said they observed the man conducting what appeared to be a drug deal in Lakewood before the chase, according to the report.

An Ocean County man who led police on a high speed chase was arrested on drug charges after police found 2 ounces of marijuana and $2,000 on him, according to a report.
NJ.com reported that Mark Barroso, 20, of Lakewood, was arrested Monday after the incident in Lakewood. Police told NJ.com that Barroso was seen conducting what appeared to be a drug deal about 8:40 p.m. on Prospect Street in Lakewood.
The report said police saw a man standing outside the window of a 1998 Toyota Camry in the High Point condominium complex, talking to the male driver, and when the man standing outside the car noticed the officers, he told the driver, who took off.

The driver, identified as Barroso, was pulled over on River Avenue, and as police spoke with him, they saw him trying to hide something between his legs and the car door, the report said. A search turned up 2 ounces of marijuana and almost $2,000 in cash.
He was charged with drug offenses and has subsequently posted bail, which was set at $15,000.
