How Much -- And What -- Will Brick Get This Weekend?
The winter storm predicted to hit tonight has resulted in some SAT test postponements in the northern part of New Jersey

The nor’easter making its way toward New Jersey is going to make a mess of things this weekend throughout the state.
And with it being a busy weekend for high school students taking the SATs, how it impacts the state and the Shore has everyone watching closely.
For Brick and much of the Jersey Shore, the prediction is primarily for rain on Saturday. The National Weather Service’s Mount Holly office has issued a winter weather advisory, set to take effect at 10 p.m. and continue through 7 a.m. Saturday.

During that time, Brick Township and the surrounding areas are expected to see snow beginning about 9 p.m., changing over to a mix until about 3 a.m., then freezing rain, and then all rain after 4 a.m., according to the 3 p.m. forecast.
Temperatures overnight are expected hover around freezing, which could make the roads very icy, as a tenth of an inch of ice is possble. Motorists should use caution on untreated roads.

The snow accumulation is expected to be no more than 1 inch, the forecast says.
Saturday will be all rain, with an inch of rain expected, according to the forecast. That could mean flooding in low-lying areas and places that flood frequently during heavy rains.
If you have to go out, bundle up because it will be windy, with gusts of 20 mph.
And if your child is taking the SATs on Saturday outside the Ocean County area, some sites have begun canceling the tests for tomorrow, postponing them to a future date.
Sites offering the test locally are Brick Memorial High School, Howell High School, Freehold Boro High School, Jackson Memorial High School, Southern Regional High School, Toms River High Schools East and South, and Wall High School. None of them have announced postponements as of 4 p.m. Friday.

Another storm is in the works for Sunday, and that one is expected to bring nothing but snow.
