TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Toms River police are hoping someone can identify two women who are being sought in connection with the use of a stolen credit card last week in the township.
The theft occurred about 9:40 p.m. May 2 when a 19-year-old Toms River woman used the restroom at Applebee's at the Ocean County Mall and inadvertently left her cell phone on the counter, Toms River police spokesman Ralph Stocco said.

The young woman realized she had left the phone but when she returned to the bathroom a few minutes later, it was gone, Stocco said. The cell phone was in a case that also held her TD Bank credit card, he said.
She went home and reported the credit card stolen, Stocco said, but before the security alert on the card was processed, a charge was made at the Target on Hooper Avenue at 10:59 p.m.

The surveillance video from Target provided by Toms River police shows two women exiting the store carrying merchandise purchased with the stolen credit card, he said.
The women possibly entered a Mercedes Benz SUV type vehicle, Stocco said.
