In her work for Easter Seals, Judi Ranno has made it her business to make others feel special.
On Tuesday night, it was her turn to feel special, as Brick Township Mayor John Ducey and the Brick Township Council honored the township resident and congratulated her on receiving the 2014 New Jersey Association of Community Providers Leadership Award.

Ranno, a direct support professional for Easter Seals New Jersey in its adult day program in Lakewood, was honored by the Association of Community Providers in November at its annual conference in Atlantic City.
“All of Judi’s actions demonstrate love and kindness and she possesses an amazing ability to connect with people and make them feel special and valued,” said Brian Fitzgerald, president and CEO of Easter Seals NJ, at the time the leadership award was announced.

Ranno works with nearly 75 participants in the Lakewood program, Fitzgerald said.
Tuesday night, Ducey and the council followed up, proclaiming Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 as “Judi Ranno Day” in Brick and praising her work.
“I don’t have a job; I love what I do,” Ranno said in accepting the proclamations from Ducey and Councilwoman Marianna Pontoriero.
“If it wasn’t for people like you, there would be a lot less good in the world,” Pontoriero said.
