BRICK, NJ — Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who rose to fame as part of the crew of summer partying friends on MTV's "Jersey Shore", is scheduled to appear at the Barnes & Noble in Brick Township for a book signing.

Sorrentino will be signing copies of his recently released memoir, "Reality Check: Making the Best of The Situation – How I Overcame Addiction, Loss, and Prison," on Sunday, April 14, at the store in Brick Plaza. The book signing will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

He was one of the stars of "Jersey Shore," which ran from 2009-2012 on MTV and followed the summer parties, relationships and even fights of eight roommates who shared a house in Seaside Heights.

Sorrentino, a Manalapan High School graduate who was born on Staten Island, has since admitted to having been addicted to oxycodone while he was on the show. He later had run-ins with the law, including after a fight with his brother at the family's Middletown tanning salon.

He later admitted to tax evasion and spent eight months in federal prison.

"Join Mike on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the pursuit of living your best life," the announcement of the book signing says.

A copy of Sorrentino's book must be purchased from the Barnes & Noble of Brick to participate in the book signing, the company said.

"Books can be purchased the day of the event, otherwise you must show your Brick Barnes & Noble receipt if you bought your copy ahead of time. Wristbands will be given out upon arrival," the company says.
