At Least 4 Hurt, 30 Units Damaged In Lakewood Fire: Reports
The cause of the fire and further information on the blaze have not been released.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Authorities were continuing to investigate the cause of a fire at a condominium complex in Lakewood that destroyed 30 units and injured at least four people on Friday, according to reports.
The Asbury Park Press reported 30 condos in Building 1 at Covington Village, an age-restricted community, were damaged in Friday's fire. That report said four people were injured.
The Lakewood Scoop reported the fire had injured seven people, including at least two firefighters and a resident of the building, with one person seriously injured.

Dozens of firefighters and fire companies joined Lakewood firefighters in battling the blaze that was finally brought under control about 5 p.m. on Friday, the Lakewood Scoop report said. Smoke from the fire could be seen for several miles, according to witnesses.
The Patch has requested further information from Lakewood police but as of 3:30 p.m. Saturday no official news release on the fire had been issued by any other law enforcement agency.
