Looking For Free Stuff To Do? Brick's Summerfest Has A Full Summer Of Free Fun

Now that school’s just about over, you may be looking for ways to break up the weeks ahead. After all, there’s only so many days you can lie by the pool or take the kids to the beach.

Brick Township’s 21st annual Summerfest program includes concerts, movies and more -- and all of the events are free. Food and drinks will be for sale, but bring your own picnic and make an evening of it.

Here’s the lineup of what’s planned:

SummerFest Concerts

Events start approximately at 6:30 p.m. Come early and enjoy the food court, the beer and wine garden for those over the age of 21, and visit sponsors tables. Fireworks follow each concert.

• Thursday, July 2: The Amish Outlaws
• Thursday, July 9: The Bronx Wanderers
• Thursday, July 16: The Infernos
• Thursday, July 23: Time Machine

SummerFest Concert Shuttle Buses

Free shuttle buses will be available on concert evenings to make attending SummerFest concerts convenient and alleviate traffic near Windward Beach. Shuttle buses run from Brick Township High School (Chambers Bridge Road), Midstreams Elementary School (Midstreams Road) and Drum Point Elementary School (Drum Point Road) from 5 p.m. until the last bus at 8 p.m. Return trips from Windward Beach begin at 9 p.m. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

SummerFest Drive In-Movies

• Friday, Aug. 7: Jurassic Park
• Friday, Aug. 14: The Sandlot
• Friday, Aug. 21: Back to the Future
• Friday, Aug. 28: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Drive-In Movies are held on the lawn at Windward Beach Park and are free to attend. Movies begin at dusk. There will be seating available in front of the screen for people who prefer watching on chairs and blankets.

SummerFest Events

• Thursday, July 30: Annual Car Show hosted by The Time Capsule Cruisers

This popular event returns to Windward Beach. Bring the family and enjoy looking at cars, trucks and motorcycles from every era. This is annually one of the largest car shows at the Jersey Shore!

• Tuesday, Aug. 4: National Night Out Against Crime and Kids Day Celebration

This free event features Police exhibits, demonstrations, games, information from kids groups, organizations and sports leagues, the Police Camp graduation and more.
