Luring Attempt On Herbertsville Road Under Investigation

Point Pleasant Police are investigating an apparent luring incident of a teenage girl by a white male in a white van, according to the department’s Facebook page.

The 15-year-old girl was walking west in the eastbound lane on Herbertsville Road between Riverwood and Hillside avenues between 3:15 p.m. and 3:20 p.m on Oct. 27 when the incident occurred. She was walking on the opposite side of the road when the man slowed down and asked her if she needed a ride, police said.

The man was described as skinny, between 30 and 40 years of age with short brown hair and brown eyes. He also had an accent. The van is described as a newer model white van with driver and passenger side windows but no other side windows, and two back windows with light window tint. There was green and blue writing on the side of the van. There may have been a ladder on the roof of the van, police said.
