Man Arrested Trying To Break Into Vehicles In Brick: Police

A resident who saw the man trying to get into vehicles reported it and Brick police arrested the man quickly, authorities said.

BRICK, NJ — A Burlington County man was arrested Tuesday after he was seen trying to get into parked vehicles in a neighborhood off Mantoloking Road.

Christopher S. Kennedy, 33, of Burlington, has been charged with two counts of burglary and theft of movable property, Police Officer Victoria Finelli said. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

Police were called to Windsor Road at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person trying to get into parked vehicles, Finelli said.

Patrolman Scott Mesmer responded and quickly found a suspect who matched the description provided by the caller and Kennedy was arrested, she said.

"Chief David Forrester commends the diligent effort of the resident who immediately reported the suspicious activity to police," Finelli said.
