Man Brings 4 Guns, Pepper Spray To '1st Date' With Woman, Brick Police Say
The man traveled from Indiana to meet the woman who he said was his girlfriend on Facebook; he's charged with stalking and weapons charges.

BRICK, NJ -- An Indiana man has been charged with stalking and multiple weapons charges after he arrived in Brick Township armed with four loaded guns and pepper spray to meet a woman he said was his Facebook girlfriend, Brick police said.
Antonio J. Perez, 24, of County Road 7 in Elkhart, Ind., was found asleep in his car at Bolanbd Field baseball complex on Lanes Mill Road about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Brick Detective Sgt. Henry Drew said Thursday.
When Patrolman Mark Nixon, Patrolman Mark Catalina, and Patrolman Marc Alexander found Perez, they also found he had four loaded guns -- a SigSauer P226 40-caliber handgun; a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver; a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver, and a WASR 10 (AK-47 style rifle) with a loaded 30-round magazine. Perez also had a case of 1,000 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, a canister of pepper spray and a gas mask, Drew said.

Further investigation by Detective Robert Shepherd revealed that Perez was en route to meet his Facebook “girlfriend” of 2 years, whom he had yet to meet in person, Drew said.
Officers were able to locate the woman and verify that she was unharmed, he said.

Perez was charged with stalking, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a rifle, possession of other weapons, possession of destructive devices, possession of certain bullets, possession of large capacity ammun ition magazine (2 counts), possession of a handgun, disposition of weapons, disposition of an assault firearm, possession of marijuana, and unregistered vehicle, Drew said.
Pereze is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $100,000 bail, no 10 percent, set by Superior Court Judge Robert Lepore, Drew said.
