Brick Apartment Complex Incident Sends Man to Hospital: Authorities
Brick police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are trying to determine what transpired before a 911 call early Wednesday morning.

BRICK, NJ -- Authorities are investigating an incident that occurred at the Kentwood Village Apartments early Wednesday morning that sent a 27-year-old man to the hospital.
Brick Township police were called to the apartment complex on Kentwood Boulevard, off Route 70 east and Van Zile Road, about 1:55 a.m., Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
The man, whose name and hometown were not available, was visiting a friend at the apartment complex, Della Fave said, before an incident occurred that resulted in a 911 call for assistance.

The details of what may have occurred were not immediately available. Brick Township Police Chief James Riccio said investigators from the police department and the prosecutor's office are trying to determine what transpired before releasing any information.
"We are not certain whether or not this is an assault or an accident," he said. "The question is how he sustained his injuries."

The man was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick initially but then flown to the trauma unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, Della Fave said.
Riccio said further information would be released once investigators can determine how the man's injuries occurred.
