Man Sexually Assaulted Girl, 11, For Years: Prosecutor

The man was arrested Tuesday after the girl reported the assaults, the prosecutor's office said.

A Lakewood man who is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl for several years was arrested Tuesday by members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit, spokesman Al Della Fave said Wednesday.

Antonio Aguilar, 41, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Della Fave said.

Della Fave said the girl told her teacher that she had been sexually assaulted by Aguilar numerous times. Special Victims Unit Detective Stephanie Bayha, Lakewood Detective Steve Kelusak and Lakewood Officer Eduardo Vega investigated with assistance from Division of Child Protection and Permanency Caseworker Juan Barrera, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit Detective Mike Senger and Ocean County Prosecutor Sgt. Jason Steele, he said.

The complaint states that the assaults by Aguilar took place over a multiple-year period, Della Fave said.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski set bail for Aguilar at $250,000, with a Nicole’s Law/No Contact Order on behalf of the victim. He is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
