Man Who Flew To Norway From NJ For Sex With Teen Sentenced To Prison
Jacob Bauer from Ocean County bragged online about having sex with the girl and admitted he knew she was a minor, authorities said.
TRENTON, NJ — A Manchester Township man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for traveling to Norway to engage in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Jacob Bauer, 29, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert Kirsch in Trenton federal court on Sept. 9 to one count of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign place.
Authorities referred to Bauer as a Toms River resident; online records showed him living at an address in Pine Lake Park.

Bauer, then 27, flew from the United States to Norway in December 2023 to meet with the girl in a hotel for sex after communicating with her through social media, authorities said. After returning to the United States, Bauer communicated with the girl and bragged to others about his sexual activities, all while acknowledging she was a minor.
After learning of Bauer’s sexual activity, members of an online community that Bauer was active in "doxxed" him by publishing his information online.

In addition to prison, Kirsch sentenced Bauer to 10 years of supervised release after his prisohn term and ordered forfeiture of the property used to commit the offense. Bauer is also must register as a sex offender, Kirsch said.
