Manchester Man Charged In Theft Of Cabinets From Thrift Store

Manchester police said video posted on social media led to tips identifying the suspect.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester Township man has been charged with theft of cabinets from a Manchester business after police received social media tips identifying him from surveillance video, police announced.

Fernando Garcia, 45, of Whiting, has been charged with one count of theft in the incident at Ken's This and That thrift store that happened about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 12, police said.

A Ring.com surveillance video captured a man stealing cabinets from the store. Police said numerous social media tips led to the identification of Garcia. In addition, the cabinets have been returned to the store, police said.

Garcia was released on a summons pending a future court date.

"We would like to remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in the court of law," police said in a follow-up Facebook post announcing Garcia's arrest.
