Mantoloking Pulls Lifeguards After 1 Is Positive For Coronavirus

The lifeguard was stationed at the Lyman Avenue beach, officials said.

MANTOLOKING, NJ — Mantoloking officials have pulled lifeguards from the borough's beaches after one of the guards tested positive for the coronavirus, the borough announced.

The lifeguard who tested positive had been working at the Lyman Street beach, and was on the stand on Aug. 22 and 23, the borough's announcement said.

Officials pulled the lifeguards as of Friday morning.

"We will still have badge checkers, social distancers and cleaning staff out on the beach through Labor Day. Swim at your own risk!" the announcement said.

Daily beach badges are $10 and can be purchased at the Shed on Downer, between the firehouse and the municipal building. They accept credit cards and checks only, no cash.
