Maple Leaf Condo Raid Nets 349 Heroin Doses; Pair Charged: Brick Police

The raid was a result of an investigation into heroin distribution, police said.

BRICK, NJ — Two people were arrested, and 349 wax folds of heroin were seized during a raid at a condominium in the Maple Leaf Park condominium complex, Brick Township police said Thursday.

Ezra Figueroa, 21, and Jessica Fluet, 26, both were arrested, Brick Sgt. Neal Pedersen said.

The Brick Township Drug Enforcement Unit along with members of the Brick Township Special Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a condominium on the 300 block of Sawmill Road on Thursday, the result of an investigation into distribution of heroin throughout the Brick Township area, Pedersen said.

The search led to the seizure of 349 wax folds of heroin, 14 suboxone pills and several hypodermic syringes, Pedersen said.

In addition, authorities found the condominium had surveillance equipment and a reinforced door, he said.

Figueroa and Fluet were charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin less than one-half ounce; two counts of possession of CDS, heroin and suboxone; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of hypodermic syringes; and having fortified premises because of the surveillance equipment and reinforced door.

Figueroa is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, and Fluet is being held in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, Pedersen said.
