If you're in Toms River Wednesday afternoon, you're invited to stop in and join the celebration.

BRICK, NJ — Sometimes when you're working hard just trying to keep up with life you need a little pick-me-up. Maybe a bouquet of flowers or some balloons.
Or maybe even a visit from the Rockettes.
The Emmett family from Brick will be getting just such a visit today, Wednesday, Sept. 20, when two members of the Rockettes from Radio City Music Hall will visit with them at Denae’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe in Toms River.

The visit is part of the Rockettes' "Gift of Joy" program.
According to a news release, the Emmetts' older son, who's in his 20s, contacted the program about his family, which includes his stepfather, his mother and 3-year-old twins, a boy and a girl. The boy has health issues, and the son said his stepfather works multiple jobs to cover the expenses, while his mother cares for the younger kids.

The celebration with the Emmetts is one of 11 the Radio City Rockettes holding in Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey and Westchester, NY.
"Just as the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes brings holiday cheer to millions of people every year, these fans were selected because they bring joy to others in their communities," the news release said.
