BRICK, NJ — A fight between two men that continued into the parking lot at the Mantoloking Road Alehouse on Saturday night caused minor injuries, including to a woman who was bitten, Brick Township police said Sunday.

Social media reports of a brawl at the restaurant were overstated, police said.

Police were called shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday for a report of a simple assault, and arrived to find two men fighting outside the restaurant, Sgt. James Kelly said. The fight had started inside but later continued outside, he said.

The fight was reported by a woman who called police. As the two men were fighting outside, the caller was attacked by another woman, whom the victim did not know. The attacker grabbed the first woman by the hair and pulled her down, then bit her on the arm, Kelly said.

Both men and the woman who was bitten were treated for minor injuries at the scene by Brick Township EMS and released.
