Moms Who Rock: Rebecca Sherman, Brick
Despite a number of challenges, she faces every day with a smile, her daughter says.

We gave our readers the chance to tell us about their mothers and what makes them special. Here is one of those nominations:

My mom rocks for so many reasons, but mostly because she is a strong, strong person.
About 13 years ago, my mom was in a bad car accident that left her partially paralyzed, as well as with short term memory loss. Just a couple years ago, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure, and my little brother is autistic.

She’s always there when my dad goes to the hospital, she learned how to set up his dialysis machine, and she has to handle my brother too, so she definitely has her plate quite full.
My mom deserves the spotlight because no matter what, she always puts a smile on, and always tries to make light of a bad situation. She doesn’t have a “pity me” attitude, she always puts everyone first. She doesn’t see how strong of a woman she really is, and how much my family appreciates and loves her.
