Motorists Warned To Heed New Traffic Pattern At Brick School
The completed parking lot reconstruction at the Veterans Memorial school complex includes new traffic flow patterns for safety.

BRICK, NJ — With the parking lot reconstruction finally completed at the Veterans Memorial school complex, new traffic patterns that go with it have been instituted, and Brick police say motorists need to heed them for safety reasons.
Under the new pattern, drivers who go into the complex on Harrison Avenue are no longer permitted to drive straight up to the elementary school. Instead, all vehicles coming in at Harrison Avenue must turn right and drive toward the district's administration building and follow the traffic pattern to the parking areas.
Brick police said there will be a barricade in place and a sign directing drivers to turn right.

"Road signs are posted and roadway markings are being installed," police said. "Violations of the motor vehicle laws will be strictly enforced on school property."
One resident commented on the police department's Facebook post, noting that parents coming to sporting events from other towns are a problem, particularly at dismissal time for the schools.

"They feel like the signs are for the home team only, not them, and they are nasty to our teachers in the parking lot!" the resident wrote.
