New Program for Sandy Recovery Coming; Others Ending Soon

New Rental Assistance Program (RAP) Coming for RREM & LMI Homeowners; While Deadline Nears for Others

Starting March 16th homeowners who have a signed grant agreement in either the RREM or LMI programs will be able to apply for up to $825/month rental assistance while the home is being elevated. This program is not retroactive, only those raising their houses at this time can apply. The assistance is initially good for up to three months, but may be extended another three months if necessary and funds allow. The house being raised must be their primary home with an existing mortgage being paid. Details of the application process have not yet been announced.

This new assistance comes on the heels of the approaching deadline for the LMI grant for homeowners and Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) for low-to-moderate income renters. Both of these programs will expire on March 4th.
