Shaquille Green shot his girlfriend Toraya Reid multiple times while she was laying on the ground, according to authorities.

JACKSON, NJ — The Jackson man accused of shooting his girlfriend, a NBA star's sister, multiple times and killing her has been indicted on murder charges, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
Shaquille Green, 30, was also indicted on charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Police responded to a 911 call shortly before 11 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2025 about shots fired and found Toraya Reid, 28, lying on her back near her black Kia Sportage near the entrance to the Paragon Apartment Complex's parking lot, according to the probable cause affidavit filed against Green. Officers read Green his rights and he waived his right to an attorney at the scene, the affidavit said. He told the officers he and Reid were dating and that he believed she was cheating on him, saying he saw a man leave her apartment that morning.
When the officers asked if the gun was in his backpack, Green told them they would be able to find it, the affidavit said.
At police headquarters, they read Green his rights again and this time, he requested an attorney, the affidavit said.
After getting search warrants, detectives found a 10mm Glock 20 in the backpack, the affidavit said.
Reid, the older sister of NBA star Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves, grew up in Asbury Park and was a 2015 graduate of Asbury Park High School.
"My older sister is super protective, she treats us like she's our parent," he told the Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine in December 2023.
