NJDOT Dredging Some Brick Waterways

The dredging, which began June 19, is anticipated to continue into November.

BRICK, NJ — The state Department of Transportation is conducting dredging in some of Brick Township's waterways.

The project, which got under way in June, is starting in Green Cove Channel, which has limited access due to tide and lack of overall space, the DOT said in an announcement released by Brick Township officials.

The DOT advisory said the work initially would be done during the day, and "will eventually ramp up to a 24/7 project."

"The contractor has been advised to be cautious of summer boat traffic and to light all barges and moorings in accordance with Coast Guard regulations," the DOT said.

Once Green Cove Channel is finished, the contractor will move to the Mantoloking 4 Channel, which is near the Bayside Swamp Cove Park and along the waterfront homes (off Normandy Drive), with the following anticipated schedule:

  • Kettle Creek Sailors Quay – 7/5/19 – 8/14/19

  • Beaver Dam Creek South – 9/7/19 – 9/21/19
  • Winter Yacht Basin – 9/25/19 – 9/26/19
  • Bay Head Channel – 9/26/19 – 10/2/19
  • Upper Metedeconk – 10/6/19 – 11/20/19
