No, It's Not Thunder You're Hearing, Brick

Training at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is underway, according to base officials.

Reports of rumbles in the distance have been coming in, and the source is the usual one: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is hosting a training exercise today.

The base noted the training on its Facebook page:

“Instructors from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are leading a weeklong Post Blast Investigative Techniques class at JB MDL for ‪#‎Soldiers‬ of the 200th Military Police Command,‪#‎Airmen‬ and ATF agents. Check out photos from the demonstration, and see how our military, federal and civilian agencies work together to keep our public safe!” the post from Tuesday said.

In addition, there will likely be an increase in air traffic around the base, officials said Wednesday.

“A-10s are slated to perform close air support maneuvers today (Wednesday) at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst as part of a joint training exercise. Local residents and the joint base community may see an increase in air traffic this afternoon.”
