BRICK, NJ — A Dodge Ram ran off the road on Route 88, hitting a utility pole and causing the road to be shut down temporarily, police said.

There were no serious injuries in the crash, which happened Thursday evening, police said Tuesday. The driver, a 57-year-old man, was driving east on Route 88 when he ran off the right side of the road and hit the pole. The pickup truck kept going after hitting the pole, coming to a stop when it hit the Arrowheart Plaza sign at Midstreams Place, police said.

The man refused medical attention at the scene, police said. The pickup truck had to be towed from the scene.
