Ocean County Hazardous Waste Collection Is Saturday

If you have old paint cans, pool chemicals you no longer need, pesticides or other potentially hazardous materials, this weekend is your opportunity to get rid of them.

Ocean County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Program takes place this Saturday, June 11, and it is free to county residents. 

You must register in advance by calling 732-506-5047.

The collection will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Toms River Township public works garage, 1672 Church Road, Toms River.

Acceptable Materials: Paints/thinners/boat paint, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, aerosol cans, auto products, drain cleaners, silver polishes, oven cleaners, photographic chemicals, rug cleaners, polishes and bleaches, waste oil and used gasoline.

Unacceptable Materials: radioactive materials, dioxins, infectious waste, explosives.

All materials, except oil and gasoline must be in their original containers.
