LAKEWOOD, NJ — A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle driven by an officer with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, according to reports.

According to the Lakewood Scoop, the injured pedestrian is a 16-year-old female who was struck while walking along New Hampshire Avenue.

NBC 10 Philadelphia reporter Ted Greenberg tweeted about the accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon but did not provide details.
