Ocean County Sheriff's Officer Hits Lakewood Pedestrian: Reports
One report says the pedestrian was seriously injured; New Hampshire Avenue is closed while the incident is being investigated.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle driven by an officer with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, according to reports.
According to the Lakewood Scoop, the injured pedestrian is a 16-year-old female who was struck while walking along New Hampshire Avenue.
NBC 10 Philadelphia reporter Ted Greenberg tweeted about the accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon but did not provide details.

The teen and the officer both have been taken to the hospital, according to the reports.
New Hampshire Avenue is closed at the Toms River border, according to the Lakewood Scoop.
