OceanFirst Grants $50K For OCC Scholarships
The bank's foundation provided the funds that will go to full-time first-year students at the community college.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Ocean County College freshmen will have access to $1,000 scholarships to attend the community college thanks to a donation from the OceanFirst Foundation of Toms River, the college announced.
The Ocean County College Foundation has been awarded $50,000 for student scholarships by the foundation, to provide scholarships for direct educational expenses to full-time freshmen attending Ocean County College who graduated from high schools in Ocean and Monmouth counties. Scholarship recipients will each receive $1,000 awards.
Since the inception of the program in 2010, the OceanFirst Foundation has generously provided Ocean County College with $300,000 in scholarship support.

Barberi, executive director of the Ocean County College Foundation. “At a time when college costs across the country are on the rise, scholarship support is critical. The OceanFirst Foundation is not only supporting students on their educational journey, they are expanding their opportunities for success in the future.”
Since its founding in 1902, OceanFirst Bank has been commited to helping families, organizations, schools, and communities throughout central New Jersey meet their financial needs, and it reached new heights in 1996 with the creation of the OceanFirst Foundation.

The foundation provides grants to organizations that meet community needs within the OceanFirst market area. Since its inception, the OceanFirst Foundation has contributed more than $26 million to more than 600 local charities and schools in Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex counties.
