PARCC Scores Presentation On Tap At Brick School Board Meeting
The state revealed general results from the controversial testing in October; Thursday evening, officials will share Brick's details.

BRICK, NJ -- Nine months after the hotly debated PARCC tests were administered, Brick Township parents will finally get some idea of how the district fared at Thursday night’s Board of Education meeting.
The public portion of that meeting, tonight in the auditorium at Brick Township High School on Chambersbridge Road, begins at 7 p.m.
Statewide results released in October for the testing conducted last spring through the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers showed a majority of New Jersey students failed to meet the grade-level expectations of the tests.

Since the generalized statements in October, however, school districts have been tight-lipped on the scores as they review the data for their own students. A few districts have begun sending out individual students’ scores -- Manchester Township officials said Wednesday night that they have released information to the parents of high school students -- but others have held off.
Brick is among those that have waited as district officials sort through the data.

Even as the results are released, changes are being made to the tests and testing process, to shorten the amount of time the students spend taking the tests and changing the set-up so the testing is spread more evenly over the school year.
